We need to make sure we are practicing effective oral health care treatment options to keep our smile safe. This includes brushing our teeth with a toothbrush that is well-equipped to accomplish the oral health care needs we need of it and also that is stored correctly after use. Here are some tips to always keep in mind for caring for your toothbrush.

Your oral health care will only be as good as the cleaning utensils you use to keep it. In order to ensure your smile remains sparkling, take the necessary steps to practice toothbrush maintenance. Always remember to replace your toothbrush as it begins to wear down, which typically occurs every 3 to 4 months. As an alternative, there are easier to operate electric toothbrushes that can assist you with cleaning your teeth without expending as much energy.

Once you have finished brushing your teeth, it is important to make sure it is clean when not in use. Also, never share your toothbrush with anyone else, and never use anyone else’s toothbrush. To avoid further contamination, do not store your toothbrush on its side, in a closed container, or with other toothbrushes. For additional help with your oral health care, contact your dentist for a professional cleaning.
